K N Malik is a former European correspondent (1982-1989) and was earlier based at Delhi (1956-1982) with The Times of India. After that he was a research associate, Queen Elizabeth House, Oxford (1989-91) and a senior research fellow at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London (1991- 96). He co-edited with Peter Robb of SOAS, India and Britain: Recent Past and Present Challenges. He is also the author of India and the United Kingdom: Change and Continuity in the 1980s. Besides giving extensive commentaries on television and radio in the UK, he has contributed numerous articles to newspapers and magazines.
