This book is a story of a young girl born in pre-Partition India, who was forced to flee her home, along with her family, as a refugee in a new environment. She relates, living through her memories, the challenges the family faced for a considerable time, before they were able to relocate themselves. Later she goes on to relate the success she was able to achieve as a daughter, wife, mother, and a teacher. Ultimately, she became an author. She lives through her travels within India and abroad . . . This book is a gist of a woman's fulfillment of her desires and her passion for achievement.

Rajni Bhandari did her schooling from St Thomas School, New Delhi. She joined Miranda House, Delhi University, for her Graduation and later did her Post Graduation in Human Geography, from the elite Delhi School of Economics, also in Delhi University. After a gap of 12 years she was able to pursue her studies further, to achieve her BEd, from Jamia Milia Islamia, Delhi. She worked as the Head of the Department, Geography, in two Irish Christian Brothers schools. First in 1974, she joined St Vincent’s school, Asansol and later in 1985 at St Columbas’ School, New Delhi. After her retirement in 2001, she authored the Geography section of the Social Studies series, ‘TIME, SPACE AND PEOPLE’, published by Oxford University Press. Presently she resides in Delhi with her husband.
